French Club Ends Another Semester

  • May. 8th, 2009 at 10:19 AM

Well the semester is coming to an end. Both Dr. Geiger and Dr. Anover sent e-mails to us showing their appreciation for what we did this semester, particularly with the International Fair.

Please note that until May 15, the French Club is collecting books as the sponsor for the Better World Book Drive. The donation boxes are located by the Kellogg Library, by the second floor of University Hall, and by Markstein Hall.

The Language Learning Center has announced that their French tutor Deo will be available for tutoring appointments during finals week. Deo will be available Monday 5/11 from 9-12, Tuesday 5/12 from 1-2, and Wednesday 5/13 from 9-11. Go to http://www.csusm.edu/llc/ to make an appointment.

Congratulations to our president Janis Evora, who is graduating this semester!

The officers for next semester have been chosen!

Chelsea Snover, this year's co-president, will become the club's sole President next semester, with the departure of Janis.

An enthusiastic girl by the name of Elise has beat me out for the Secretary position. Congrats to her.

German exchange student Max Mann will be replacing our incumbent, Felix, as the club Treasurer.

I am unaware of who will be Vice-President next semester. It is possible that our current VP Claudia will continue in that office.

Therefore, this will most likely be my last post here, unless I get elected secretary again.

Au revoir!

No French Club Meeting Minutes for 4/16

  • Apr. 16th, 2009 at 10:47 PM

There was no French Club meeting today because of International Fair. Our pastries from Opera Café and Pâtisserie in Sorrento Valley were a big hit -- in fact, so much so that we ran out after 45 minutes! Thanks also to the on-campus Starbucks from whom we got the coffee we served. Anyway, I took pictures and recorded some video of the Fair using my cell phone and made a little video with them. Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8GnQcJdoBs
